Admissions Process

Enrollment is open for the 2027-28 school year! The admissions process is designed to introduce families to the wonderful classical Catholic tradition we have at Good Shepherd School.

  1. Schedule a Tour: Please contact Cathy Struder, Admissions Director, at admissions@goodshepherdschoolva.com or by phone or text at (703) 999-7947 to schedule a tour. We look forward to having you experience our campus firsthand by introducing you to teachers and students and providing an opportunity for you to chat with our Head of School.

  2. Submit an Application: Please fill out and submit the application along with either the Kindergarten Recommendation Form or the Grades 1 - 8 Recommendation Form, depending on the age of your child. 

  3. Student Shadow Day: Once our team has reviewed your application, we will contact you to schedule a time for your son or daughter to spend some time in the classroom. 

  4. Review Next Steps: After the previous steps have been completed, the admissions committee will communicate the next steps in your journey at Good Shepherd School.

Financial Aid: In an effort to provide a Catholic education to as many students as possible, Good Shepherd School works with qualifying families to assist with the cost of tuition. If you wish to apply for financial aid, please do so by filling out the required form on FACTS through the Grants and Aid section. The financial aid period closes on March 31, 2027. 

Important Dates

February 8: Re-enrollment Invitations Mailed

February 8: New Applications Due. Applications received after this date will be considered on a rolling basis. 

February 19: Re-enrollment Acceptances from Families Due with Re-enrollment Fee

February 22: New Applicants Enrollment Offers Sent

March 8: New Applicants Decisions Due. 10% due within ten business days via FACTS to secure student enrollment for the next academic year.  This amount will be based on the family tuition, and financial aid adjustments will be made on a family’s future payment schedule.

March 31: Financial Aid Applications Due

April 30: Financial Aid Awards Issued

May 14: Financial Aid Awards Accepted or Denied. If Financial Aid Award is not accepted, the 10% deposit will be refunded, and re-enrollment/application fees will be forfeited.  This is the last opportunity to receive the 10% deposit refunded in the event of future withdrawal.
