Jan – Feb: Family Interview and Student Placement

If you think Good Shepherd School is right for your child, an interview for both parents and your child will be scheduled.  Interviews are available in January and early February of 2023 and you can schedule this interview by contacting Cathy Struder, Admission Director, at admissions@goodshepherdschoolva.com or by phone or text at (571) 751-8177.  The meeting is low-key and enjoyable. Your elementary child will participate in part of the conversation and will spend time working with a staff member to assess academic placement. Your preschool child will spend time with our teachers in our 3-4 year old environment.

Early Jan – Mar: Financial Aid

Financial aid is an optional part of the application process. To apply, families must set up a FACTS account, or access their existing account to complete the application.

The aid period closes on Mar 31, 2023.

March: Admission and Deposit

Admissions decisions for the 2023-2024 academic year will be released in March, and a deposit of 10% tuition will be issued. This deposit is required to hold your child’s place in class. We do expect to have a waitlist, and your child’s enrollment will be forfeit if your deposit is not received within the allotted time.

The first six weeks of school are considered a trial period to ensure a healthy fit between your child and the school. If you or the school decides that your child is not flourishing in the Good Shepherd School environment, we’ll help you in any way we can to transition your child and help them on to their next school environment.

Rolling Admissions and Waitlist

Student applications and aid applications received after the deadlines will be considered on a rolling basis. Please be aware that we expect most classes to be filled during the enrollment period. If your child is waitlisted, we will notify you if enrollment becomes likely and if you should schedule a family interview with us. Due to changes in family circumstances, we usually see a few seats open up through the spring and summer months.
